I have always heard that opinions were like noses . . . . everyone has one.  The definition for the word opinion is, a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.  Opinions can get us into trouble when we take them at face value without digging deep to find out if there is truth to back up that opinion.

I read about these two girls that were out for a walk and as they strolled in their neighborhood they came upon these two big trees that had fallen in a recent storm.  One of the girls asked the men who were cleaning up the debris, "Why did these big trees fall?"  One of the men replied, " Well, this one fell because it had shallow roots.  When the storm came the root system could not support the tree.  The other one was hollow inside.  An ant found a weak spot in the tree and started chewing a tiny tunnel into the tree's center.  Soon other ants came. Water got into the tunnel and rotted the wood away. I don't know about you, but I want to have deep roots, not just opinions with no truth or facts.  I do not want to look good on the outside but be hollow inside.

I encourage you to dig deep for God's truth everyday.  We need that Living Water to sustain us as the world tries to pull us down.  Shallow seeking will lead to shallow believing.  Don't just have an opinion, have God's truth in your heart and we will stand tall like a tree planted by the water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither. . .
