Tis The Season
By Cheryl Henderson
Well, here we go! Trees are going up, decorations are being put out, shopping is in full swing, and the race is on to have it all done by December 25th.
Whew, it makes me tired just thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Christmas season. I actually love doing all the above. However, at this stage in life so much more is important to me besides all of the hoop la.
What matters to me is that I celebrate the Birthday of Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Oh, I am not sure that December 25th is the exact date of His birth, but it is the day we celebrate it. I celebrate the fact that God loved us so much that He sent His son to be born of a virgin, live a perfect life, and gave himself as a ransom for me and you. What a Christmas gift!
Family is important to me at this time of the year. I encourage you that if you have issues with family members, pray for them. You might want to send them a card. Extending love to those who really need it.
As you go about all the hustle and bustle of the season don't forget to celebrate the greatest gift of all. His name is Jesus, the reason for the season.
